'Entre Deux Eaux' (Between two waters) Exhibition

Megève is naturally surrounded by water, and is now presenting an exhibition devoted to this element, showcasing the different ways it has been portrayed by French and international artists and craftspeople.

Megève is a village nestled in the foothills of the Mont-Blanc massif between two watersheds, the Arbon and the Arly, with the Glapet and Le Planay mountain streams running through the centre of the village. Water is everywhere here, all around, and the landscapes and the lives of the locals are dependent on the water system and snow at the peaks.

How do today's artists from the region, from France or further afield view and portray this life source in their artworks? From a simple molecule to a source of inspiration, what role does water play in the intellectual process of contemporary artists?
Ceramicists, glass-makers, embroiderers, mosaic artists, designers, weavers... A dozen visual artists will be presenting their exceptional artworks based on this vital element and some of them have even been created especially for the exhibition.
