Exhibition 'Montagnes imaginées, montagnes représentées' (Mountains imagined and embodied)
Mountains have inspired artists since the dawn of mountaineering and winter sports. The town of Megève is presenting a series of exhibitions of paintings, screen prints and photographs created by three artists.
The artist Adrianna Muffat Jeandet Wójcik is presenting a series of exhibitions on a theme which is very dear to her heart - 'mountains imagined / mountains embodied'. The first show will take place at 'Le Palais' sports centre during the Christmas holidays. Here, Adrianna will exhibit just her own work at first, which will show a mix of techniques including painting, screen printing and photography. A second public exhibition is planned from 5 February to 14 March and will show the work of two other artists - Iwona Rossochacka Kenny and Ona. Adrianna has chosen to invite both these artists to showcase their individual take on the depiction mountains, using paint and screen prints, in the case of Iwona Rossochacka Kenny, and paint and sculpture, in the case of Ona. The exhibitions are a depiction of mountains as seen through the eyes of these three artists who enjoy the challenge of capturing the landscape by depicting its horizons and exploring the infinity of its peaks. They present us with a relationship to the landscape conveyed through their brushes and printing inks.
