Gianadda 'Bacon, portrait' Conference
In partnership with the National Portrait Gallery, Martha Degiacomi, art historian at the Fondation Pierre Gianadda in Martigny, is giving a talk on painter Francis Bacon.
British painter Francis Bacon was born in Dublin in 1909 and died in Madrid in 1992. His first paintings were highly influenced by Surrealism and Picasso. This self-taught artist also took inspiration from Vélasquez, Poussin and Rembrandt.
